Variamine Blue B Sulfate (=4-Amino-4'-methoxydiphenylamine Sulfate) is a fluorescent dye that is used in microscopy to differentiate between red and blue. It has a carbonyl group and an amino group, which are the reactive groups for labelling purposes. The molecule has two rings and is monochromatic. This chemical is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. Variamine Blue B Sulfate (=4-Amino-4'-methoxydiphenylamine Sulfate) can be used as a reagent for iron titration because it has a fluorescence emission spectrum with maximal intensity at 500 nm and its excitation maximum is at 350 nm.
