Descripción:2-Ethylcycloheptan-1-one is a ketone that has been shown to undergo expansion when exposed to light. It has been used as an allenic compound in the synthesis of polymers and dyes. 2-Ethylcycloheptan-1-one undergoes photolysis and can be used as a photoinitiator in the polymerization of acrylic monomers. It is also able to undergo irradiation and can be used as a photochemical initiator for the polymerization of vinyl acetate monomers or polyvinyl chloride.
