Myristyl myristate has been shown to have toxicological properties in animal studies, but it does not induce skin irritation or sensitization in humans. Myristyl myristate has been shown to be effective as a cationic surfactant for the removal of water vapor from surfaces such as metal, glass, plastics, and ceramics. The phase transition temperature of this compound is between -5°C and 10°C.
