4-Methylisophthalic acid is a carboxylic acid that belongs to the group of compounds known as isomers. It has been found in heartwood, dioxane, and piperazine. 4-Methylisophthalic acid has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of certain bacteria. This compound also has chemical compositions similar to those of monomethyl esters and methyl benzoate.
