2-OG is a plant lipid that has been shown to have anti-fungal properties. It inhibits the growth of opportunistic fungal pathogens in blood samples by binding to surface glycoproteins and inhibiting receptor activity. 2-OG has also been shown to regulate energy metabolism, signal pathways, and body formation in mice. In addition, 2-OG has been shown to inhibit the growth of solid tumours in mice by binding to 2-arachidonoylglycerol receptors. This lipid can be used as a model system for studying other lipids that are structurally similar to 2-OG.
