Descripción

Basic Blue 1 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon with a chemical structure of CHClN. It is a basic dye that can be used as a cross-linking agent in the production of ester compounds. Basic Blue 1 has a nucleophilic substitution reaction with hydrochloric acid to form an ester compound and methyl ethyl. Inhibiting the formation of this ester compound leads to the inhibition of DNA synthesis, which prevents cellular division. Basic Blue 1 also has an inhibitory effect on radiation and stains when combined with phosphotungstic acid. It is not active against bacterial DNA because it does not contain a carbonyl group, which is necessary for nucleophilic substitution reactions.
