Descripción

2-Amino-5-methylhexanoic acid is a cytotoxic agent that belongs to the group of cyclic peptides. It has been shown to be an effective antibiotic against various bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. 2-Amino-5-methylhexanoic acid also has anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. This drug can be used in cancer treatments as a chemotherapeutic or for the prevention of metastasis. The mechanism of action is not known, but it may interfere with the transport of amino acids into cells or inhibit the growth of tumor cells by altering their metabolism.
