Ramifenazone is a novel anti-inflammatory agent that belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is a prodrug that is converted to its active form, ramifenazone hydrochloride, by esterases in the body. Ramifenazone has been shown to have a potent inhibitory effect on bacterial growth and may be useful for the treatment of microbial infection. Ramifenazone has been shown to have an acute toxicity profile similar to other NSAIDs and may be used as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for infectious diseases, such as bacterial infections.
