Descripción:Dehydroabietinol is a diterpene that belongs to the group of natural compounds. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against human lung fibroblasts and herpes simplex virus in vitro. Dehydroabietinol inhibits viral replication by inhibiting the enzyme catalysis of viral DNA polymerase. Dehydroabietinol also blocks the synthesis of polysaccharides in plant cells and has insecticidal properties. This compound is not soluble in water, so it must be dissolved in an organic solvent before use. Dehydroabietinol may also be used as an additive for diesel fuel or as a precursor for other chemicals, such as plasticizers or lubricants.
