5-Chloro-2-ethylaniline is a benzophenone that can be prepared by the reaction of ethylaniline, phosphorus pentachloride, and chlorobenzene. A variety of acid derivatives can also be synthesized from 5-chloro-2-ethylaniline, including benzoic acid, which can then be used to synthesize other compounds such as benzoic esters.
