Información del producto
3-Vinylbenzoic acid is a monomer that has been shown to have hydrophobic properties. It has been used as a cross-linking agent to produce polymers with increased stability. 3-Vinylbenzoic acid has also been used in the synthesis of paclitaxel, which is an anticancer drug. The polymerization of 3-vinylbenzoic acid can be catalyzed by the acid complex of crotonic acid or diethyl malonate. 3-Vinylbenzoic acid can be synthesized from benzene via a reaction mechanism involving the addition of hydrogen and chlorine to form vinyl chloride followed by hydrolysis and decarboxylation, yielding 3-vinylbenzoic acid.
