Descripción:
(1R)-(-)-Thiocamphor is an organic chemical compound with tetradentate properties. It is synthesized by the condensation of ethyl chloroacetate and acetaldehyde in the presence of potassium hydroxide. (1R)-(-)-Thiocamphor has a high boiling point, enabling it to be purified by distillation. It can also be purified by liquid chromatography, which separates it from other compounds based on its physicochemical properties. The compound has been used in the synthesis of ligands and as a structural analysis tool for analyzing other compounds.
