Descripción:Sitoindoside II is a natural compound that has been shown to have potential as an anticancer agent. It binds to the receptor for epidermal growth factor, which may be important in cancer progression. Sitoindoside II is soluble in supercritical carbon dioxide and has been detected in the leaves of Meliaceae plants. The chemical structure of sitoindoside II was elucidated by chromatographic methods and it was found to be identical with usnic acid and chicory. Sitoindoside II has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia cells in mice.
