Descripción

Bruceantinol is a flavonol glycoside that is found in the etoac extract of Brucea javanica. It has been shown to have potent antitumor activity and clinical relevance as an anti-inflammatory agent. Bruceantinol induces apoptosis by inhibiting the phosphatidylserine externalization, mitochondrial membrane depolarization, and caspase activation pathways. This compound also inhibits the proliferation of adipose cells and has antioxidant properties. The quassinoid structure confers the ability to penetrate cell membranes and inhibit lipid peroxidation.
