Descripción:2-Iodobenzene-1-sulfonamide is a benzothiazine derivative that has been synthesized and its characteristics have been studied by molecular modeling. It has shown potential as an anti-inflammatory drug candidate. The pharmacophore of 2-iodobenzene-1-sulfonamide is composed of two amines, terminal alkynes, and a ligand. This molecule also showed activity against Cox-1 and Cox-2 enzymes, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins and thromboxanes in the body. This study revealed that 2IBS is an efficient method to inhibit COX enzymes.
