Información del producto
- Butanoic acid, 2-amino-4-phosphono-, (2R)-
D-ap4 is a potentiator of neurotransmitters that is used to study the effects of excitatory and inhibitory synaptic transmission. D-ap4 is an enantiopure compound, meaning it has one chiral center and two stereoisomers, D-ap4 and L-ap4. The D-isomer potentiates the release of dopamine (DA) from retinal neurons in rat brain slices, while the L-isomer does not. D-ap4 also potentiated the release of DA from rat striatal synaptosomes in vitro, but did not affect glutamate release. The D-isomer was more potent than the L-isomer at inhibiting chloride currents in cultured mouse cortical neurons. In addition, the D-isomer was more potent than the L-isomer at inhibiting high frequency stimulation induced depression in rats.
The drug is commonly used as a diethyl ester with a molecular weight of 328.2 g
