Diethyl pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxylate is an ester that can be synthesized by the reaction of glycine with ethyl pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxylate. This compound is a colorless oil that has a fruity odor. It is soluble in alcohol, ether and chloroform. Diethyl pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxylate has been used as an intermediate for the synthesis of imidazoles and oxazoles.
