Descripción:Letrazuril is a polymeric matrix that contains two active antiretroviral agents. It is used as an antimicrobial agent in the treatment of HIV infection. Letrazuril has been shown to have a clinical response in patients with diarrhoea, and it is also effective against Clostridium difficile infections. Letrazuril has been shown to be safe and well tolerated in humans, with no significant side effects. This drug binds to fatty acids, which are the essential component of the bacterial cell wall, and inhibits polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity. The carboxyl group on letrazuril can react with sodium salts to form the salt of the corresponding carboxylic acid.
