• Descripción: S 38093-2 is a selective dopamine D1 receptor agonist with low affinity for dopamine D2 receptors. It has been shown to possess antinociceptive properties in animal models and may act on the transmission of norepinephrine and dopamine in the central nervous system. In clinical studies, S 38093-2 has been found to have no significant adverse effects on plasma concentrations of norepinephrine or dopamine. S 38093-2 has shown efficacy in the treatment of neuropathic pain in animals, which is not surprising due to its binding profile. The drug also showed an ability to reduce depression-like behaviors in mice with chronic unpredictable stress and exhibited good oral bioavailability in rats. S 38093-2 also has a potential use as a treatment for Parkinson's disease due to its ability to inhibit the activity of dopamine transporter proteins.
