It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cultured tumor cells and induce the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. 4-Hydroxy estradiol 1-N7-guanine also has neuroprotective properties and may be able to prevent neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease. This drug binds to estrogens, dopamine, and deoxyribose in the body by conjugation with guanine. The molecular modeling of this conjugate reveals that the conjugate will not bind to apurinic sites or block DNA repair enzymes.
