Descripción:2,6-Dibromo-4-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenol is a conformationally flexible and crystallizable compound that is soluble in organic solvents. The compound has two equivalent 2,6-dibromophenols joined by an ether bond to form a dimer. In the crystal structure, dimers are connected by hydrogen bonds to form chains. Chains are then linked by torsion with hydrogen bonding to form the two-dimensional lattice. This polymer is asymmetric due to the different orientation of the phenolic groups in each monomer.
