Descripción

Phox-I2 is a lipid-soluble compound that inhibits the activity of fatty acid synthase, an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of fatty acids. It also inhibits the activity of other enzymes that are involved in fatty acid metabolism. These effects can lead to a decrease in cardiac contractility and may be associated with increased risk for myocardial infarction. In addition, Phox-I2 has been shown to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species, which may lead to cell death. Chronic exposure to Phox-I2 leads to morphological changes in cells and increases their susceptibility to apoptosis.
