Descripción:BMeS-p-A is a new antibiotic that has been shown to be effective against gram-negative bacteria, such as E. coli and P. aeruginosa, and carbapenem-resistant bacteria such as K. pneumoniae. BMeS-p-A binds to the bacterial ribosome and prevents protein synthesis by inhibiting the peptidyl transferase activity of the ribosome. BMeS-p-A also appears to have photophysical properties, which may help with its diagnosing potential for bacterial strains and monitoring of fields.
