Descripción:Polymyxin B1-d3 is a polymyxin antibiotic that is effective against gram-negative bacteria. It binds to the cell membrane and causes it to leak, leading to cell lysis. Polymyxin B1-d3 has been shown to be effective against antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria, such as Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii. The phase transition temperature for this substance is about 30 degrees Celsius, so it should not be used in patients with fever or hyperthermia. Polymyxin also has a systolic pressure lowering effect, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of cyclic peptides.
