- (1R)-2-methyl-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-ol
2-Methyl-1-phenyl-2-propen-1-ol is a reagent that is used in organic chemistry to produce allylsilanes. It can be produced from the reaction of an alcohol with silicon and a reagent, such as phenyllithium. 2-Methyl-1-phenyl-2-propen-1-ol has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the conversion of tertiary alcohols into ketones. The byproduct of this reaction is 1,4 propanediol, which can be recycled for use in other chemical reactions.
