Descripción:
DDRI-18 is a small molecule that inhibits the growth of cancer cells in culture and in animals by inducing apoptotic cell death. This drug also has damaging effects on cardiac tissue, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of growth factors. DDRI-18 targets the DNA repair mechanisms in cells, inhibiting the synthesis of proteins involved in DNA repair and preventing damaged cells from repairing themselves. DDRI-18 has been shown to bind to cardiotoxic molecules such as etoposide, which may explain its damaging effects on cardiac tissue.
