There are two isomers of this substance: 2,2'-pentamethylene dioxane (PMD) and 2,2'-hexamethylene dioxane (HD). The organoleptic properties of these substances are different and depend on their chemical structure. HD has a more fruity flavor than PMD, while PMD has more of an earthy or woody flavor.
