Descripción:
3-Cyclobutylalanine is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme dihydroorotase that catalyzes the conversion of 3-hydroxy-L-tyrosine to L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine. This compound has been shown to inhibit the production of deregulated peptides and linear molecules that are synthetized by mutant aspartate aminotransferases (e.g., G551D). 3-Cyclobutylalanine was also found to be an effective inhibitor against E. coli and other bacteria in the nanomolar range.
