Descripción:5,6-Diphenyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-ylamine is a cytotoxic agent that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of leukemia. It is a potent and selective inhibitor of DNA synthesis and RNA synthesis. 5,6-Diphenyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-ylamine inhibits cellular growth by binding to the N7 position on guanine in DNA. This binding prevents the formation of an essential base pair with adenine. 5,6-Diphenyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-ylamine also inhibits RNA synthesis by inhibiting ribonucleotide reductase activity.
