It is an active substance that can be found in human serum and tissues, such as the heart and liver. 3'-Iodo-L-thyronine is expressed at high levels in cardiac hypertrophy and myocardial infarction patients, as well as in cirrhosis patients. In addition, this drug has been shown to have enzyme activities that are necessary for lipid metabolism, protein synthesis, and carbohydrate metabolism. 3'-Iodo-L-thyronine also has hypothyroid effects on the body due to its ability to reduce serum levels of T3 and T4 hormones.
