4-(1-Butyl)thiophenol is an alkylphenoxy radical that exhibits cytotoxic properties. It is a reactive, electron-rich molecule that can interact with cellular components such as DNA and proteins. This compound has been shown to be effective in the treatment of leukemia cells in vitro, although it has not been tested on humans. 4-(1-Butyl)thiophenol has also been shown to have a wide range of biological effects, including inhibition of DNA synthesis and protein synthesis, as well as altering cell membrane permeability.
