Acantrifoic acid A is a terpenoid that is found in plants such as Eleutherococcus senticosus and Acanthopanax senticosus. It has been shown to have anticancer effects through inhibiting the growth of tumor cells by blocking the assembly of microtubules, preventing cell division. Acantrifoic acid A also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α, which are caused by paclitaxel treatment. Acantrifoic acid A has also been shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory agent that can prevent or reduce inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis and cyclooxygenase activity.
