1H,4H,5H,6H,7H-Pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridin-3-ol is a benzodiazepine drug that has been shown to have anxiolytic properties in animal models. It has been shown to interact with the γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor and act as an agonist in various tissues. This drug also interacts with the GABA receptor to produce a specific effect on anxiety and convulsions. The effects of 1H,4H,5H,6H,7H-Pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridin-3-ol are similar to those of muscimol but it is more potent. This drug has been found to be an active ingredient in Amanita muscaria mushrooms.
