Descripción:Bassianin is a biocontrol agent derived from the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana, which is known for its ability to infect and ultimately kill various insect hosts. This biocontrol agent operates through a complex mode of action involving the penetration of the host's cuticle, followed by the proliferation within the hemocoel, and eventual production of toxins that disrupt the insect's physiological processes, particularly the nervous system. Upon infection, the host insect becomes incapacitated, leading to its death and further sporulation of the fungus, facilitating the spread to additional hosts.
