Descripción:NSC745887 is a small molecule that has been shown to induce apoptosis in different cancerous cells, including human PC-3 prostate cancer cells. This compound inhibits the activity of telomerase, an enzyme that is necessary for the elongation of telomeres and the maintenance of cellular viability. NSC745887 also induces autophagy through inhibition of the amination reaction, which is required for cell growth. The optical properties of this molecule have been studied using spectroscopy. NSC745887 appears to be taken up by cells following binding with annexin A2 and may be used as a fluorescent probe to detect apoptotic cells.
