Descripción:
2-(3-Methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl)phenol is a chelating agent that can form complexes with metals. The coordination of the metal ion in the complex is usually octahedral and tetrahedral. Luminescence of the chelate is due to the electron transitions from excited states to ground state. The quantum yield of this reaction indicates the probability that an electron will be emitted as a photon. 2-(3-Methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl)phenol has been shown to have a high quantum yield and stable emission spectrum.
