Descripción:CP-53631 is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that blocks the production of stomach acid by inhibiting the activity of the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme. It is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes CYP2C19 and CYP3A4, which may affect its efficacy when taken with other drugs that are metabolized by these enzymes. CP-53631 has been shown to inhibit serotonin reuptake in rats, which may lead to increased serotonin levels in humans. This drug also inhibits gastric acid secretion and has been shown to be more effective than esomeprazole for treating acid reflux disease. Monitoring serum concentrations of CP-53631 is recommended due to the potential for interactions with drugs such as proton pump inhibitors, clopidogrel, warfarin, and phenytoin.
