Descripción:
3,3-Bis(Methoxymethyl)-2,6-dimethylheptane is a sterically hindered aliphatic alcohol that is used as a building block in the preparation of other organic compounds. It can be prepared from diethyl succinate and ethyl acetate by adding dimethoxybutane to the reaction mixture. This process is catalyzed by strong acid such as benzoic acid. 3,3-Bis(Methoxymethyl)-2,6-dimethylheptane has been shown to interact with various reagents such as tetrahydrofuran and benzoate. The relevance of these interactions to chemical synthesis needs further study.
