Descripción

(S)-1-(2-Chloro-pyrimidin-4-yl)-pyrrolidin-3-ol is a DNA analog that inhibits the dna repair enzymes nucleotide excision repair and base excision repair. It binds to the 3' end of the damaged dna strand, preventing the removal of nucleotides from the damaged strand. This leads to a single stranded oligonucleotide with a gap in its sequence, which can't be repaired by either type of repair enzyme. The drug has been shown to inhibit cancer cells and has been used for targeted therapy for leukemia and other cancers.
