CPFX2090 is a synthetic antibiotic that has broad spectrum activity against bacteria and fungi. It has been shown to be active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including drug-resistant strains, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium. CPFX2090 is also active against parasites such as Plasmodium falciparum. This antibiotic can inhibit the synthesis of nucleic acids in viruses, which may be due to its ability to bind to RNA polymerase and DNA gyrase. CPFX2090 has also been shown to have antiviral properties by inhibiting the production of viral proteins.
