Descripción:1-Ethyl-4-octylbenzene is a drug substance that is used in the manufacture of fingolimod. It is a target product for setup and has been shown to bind to the leucine zipper region of the transcription factor STAT3, which prevents the phosphorylation of STAT3 by JAK. This results in the inhibition of nuclear translocation and DNA binding. 1-Ethyl-4-octylbenzene binds to STAT3 with an affinity that is 10 times higher than that of fingolimod. This agent also inhibits the activation of gene expression through protein phosphorylation, leading to decreased cytokine production, and exhibits anti-inflammatory properties.
