Descripción:UFP 803 is a ligand for the urotensin-II receptor. It has been shown to have effects on the release of neurotransmitters, such as noradrenaline, serotonin, and dopamine. In vivo assays show that UFP 803 inhibits the excitatory effect of glutamate on neuronal activity in the brain by blocking the release of neurotransmitters from neurons. This drug also reduces inflammation and prevents extravasation in animal models. UFP 803 acts by binding with high affinity to urotensin II receptors and inhibiting cellular proliferation induced by urotensin-II.
