N,N-Bis[(diphenylphosphino)methyl]-3-(triethoxysilyl)propylamine is a powerful oxidant that can be used in catalytic synthesis. It is homogeneous and reacts with hydrogen peroxide to produce the elemental phosphorus species. This compound has been shown to have a high level of catalytic activity for the oxidation of naphthalene. N,N-Bis[(diphenylphosphino)methyl]-3-(triethoxysilyl)propylamine has also been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of menadione. The technique used in this study was elemental analysis.
