Descripción:2-Nitrophenyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is used as chromogenic substrate for quantitative studies and enzyme kinetics of beta-galactosidase. It is used in assays for quantification of the activity of beta-galactosidase reporter gene constructs in molecular biology. This test is routinely used in diagnostics for the identification of lactose-fermenting bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae family.
