It is an activator of the Ligand-gated ion channel (LGA) receptor. AZD7451 is also an inhibitor of the voltage-gated potassium channel (VGKC) subtype M2, which plays a role in epileptic seizures. The protein interactions of AZD7451 are not well understood but it has been shown to inhibit antibody binding to human cells and peptides.
