Descripción:Ethyl 2-(chlorosulfonyl)acetate is a drug candidate that inhibits the enzyme cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT), which is responsible for the formation of cholesterol esters. It has been shown to be effective in animal models for the treatment of metabolic disorders, such as hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit the activity of serine proteases, which are involved in coagulation, amido hydrolase, and nucleophilic attack reactions. Ethyl 2-(chlorosulfonyl)acetate has also been shown to activate gene product in cellular studies with mouse fibroblasts.
