• Descripción: (S)-(-)-3-Aminoquinuclidine 2HCl is a cholinergic agonist that has been shown to be effective in inducing the release of acetylcholine from brain synaptosomes. This drug binds to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) and inhibits the action of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, thereby increasing the concentration of acetylcholine in the synaptic cleft. The drug is also able to cross the blood-brain barrier and bind to receptors on neurons. It has been shown that this drug can be used as an imaging agent for molecular magnetic resonance tomography (MRT), with high sensitivity and specificity.
