This drug has been shown to be effective in inhibiting enzymes that catalyze the synthesis of proteins such as kinases and phosphatases. [(3S)-3-Amino-4-Oxo-4-Phenylmethoxybutyl]Imino-Methyl Oxidoazanium; 2,2,2 Trifluoroacetic Acid also inhibits glucose metabolism in yeast cells by blocking the enzyme hexokinase. The drug is metabolized by enzymatic hydrolysis to release 2,2,2 trifluoroacetic acid as an inactive compound.
