• Descripción: 4-Aminopiperidine is a drug that has been shown to be an inhibitor of the urea cycle in animal experiments. This drug has also been found to be a competitive antagonist at dopamine D2 receptors and may have antipsychotic properties. 4-Aminopiperidine has been shown to inhibit viral replication by binding to the receptor site on the virus’s surface, preventing its attachment and entry into the cell. 4-Aminopiperidine is not absorbed well from the gastrointestinal tract and is therefore available as an injection only. It has also been shown to cause lymphocytic leukemia in rats when administered orally or intraperitoneally.
