Descripción:Anthopleurin-A is a molecule that belongs to the group of cyclic peptides. It is a disulfide bond-containing molecule, which has been shown to inhibit the uptake of Na+ ions in cardiac tissue by binding to the Na+ channel. This leads to an increase in the intracellular concentration of Na+, which triggers a series of reactions leading to cell depolarization and stimulation of heart muscle contraction. Anthopleurin-A has also been shown to have stem cell factor-like activity in experimental models, which may be due to its ability to stimulate proliferation of stem cells.
